If you are still wondering if there may be additional federal grants available besides the Pell Grant you are in luck, as there are a number of other federal grants in existence besides just the Pell Grant.

These grants can be applied for via the FAFSA form, and they can provide you with a significant amount of money towards your college education if you are able to qualify.

FSEOG Grant: Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant

Most students that receive the FSEOG grant have EFC values that are near, or set at zero, and therefore demonstrate a very high financial need for aid to attend college.

This grant can provide you with between 100, and 4,000 dollars per year of undergraduate study, and you will be put into contention for this grant once you go ahead and submit your FAFSA.

ACG Grant: Academic Competitiveness Grant

The majority of students who receive the ACG grant have achieved academically by completing a rigorous set of coursework, as this grant was designed for students who have done well in school. The award money from this grant can be used in conjunction with the aid you receive from your Pell Grant, and you can apply for this award by completing the FAFSA.

The ACG grant can provide you with up to 750 dollars during your first year of study, and up to 1,300 dollars during for your second year of postsecondary coursework.

The National SMART Grant

The SMART Grant can provide you with up to 4,000 dollars per year during your third, and fourth years of academic study at the postsecondary institution you are attending.

Students majoring in various technological fields, engineering, science, and math can receive this award, and to qualify you must maintain a 3.0 grade point average, and also be eligible to receive a Pell Grant for that particular school year.

The TEACH Grant

The TEACH grant, which stands for the Teach Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant Program, is a federal grant that is geared towards students who are willing to work as either elementary, or secondary school teachers for students that come from lower-income families upon graduation.

The grant can provide up to 4,000 dollars per year for any student that is willing to make such a commitment, and the critical requirement that you must satisfy in conjunction with your commitment to teach has to do with maintaining a grade point average that is above a 3.25.
